Big Projects are Coming!!! BRTs, Railways, Missile Armed Fastcrafts, and Modern Navy Vessels to name a few.

President Rodrigo Duterte is set to approve various projects such as the North-South Railway Project – South Line; Metro Manila Bus Rapid Transit- EDSA; Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project for the Philippine Coast Guard Phase II; Plaridel Bypass Toll Road Project; Metro Manila Flood Management Project; Increase in Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) Area of the Bicol International Airport Project; Change in Scope of the New Bohol Airport Construction and Sustainable Environment Protection Project; Modernization of the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center; Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital; and the Inclusive Partnerships for Agricultural Competitiveness.

These will be tackled tackled during the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board meeting chaired by President Duterte. The folowing projects were recommended by NEDA Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) for NEDA Board approval.

While in the Armed Forces Modernization, Lt. Cmdr. Marineth Domingo, Philippine Navy's public affairs office head, said in her message to the PNA, “Acquisition of (more) fast craft will be of great help to our organization since it will provide additional defense and interdiction capability to thwart piracy, terrorism, kidnapping and other dubious activities of lawless elements in the country.”

Around two-dozen fast attack crafts usually between 50–800 tons and can reach speeds of 25–50 knots are planned for acquisition.

The procurement of two (2) 92-meter heavy-weather, high endurance Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRV) for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is also now up for the President approval through NEDA Board.

This will enhance the response capability of the PCG during search and rescue (SAR) operation, rescue and salvage work, environmental protection, enforcement of applicable laws, transport of goods and persons in times of calamities and disaster as quoted in Tankler.

Furthermore, this will increase maritime patrolling for a period of 10-15 days and increase coverage range of not less than 3,000 nautical miles, ideal for the Philippines vast EEZ.

10 Good Traits of Duterte That Will Lead Us Back From Obscurity

by: Jec Ortiz
Cebu, Philippines

Never in the history of the Philippines that we had such a unique leader. Even though President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte just finished his first SONA, his presidency has already marked many firsts in the annals of Malacañang.

As we listened to his SONA, we can’t help but compare him to a father having a hearty talk with his children, full of "ad-libs with substance". Tatay Digong may be marred by doubts and criticism during his presidential campaign sorties due to his unorthodox style, rugged flair and tough verve atypical of a statesman. Yet, his innate valiant approach is what makes this result oriented, no non-sense straightforward commander-in-chief extraordinary.

Listed here are President Digong’s traits we observed that have produced positive outcomes:

1. Disciplinarian – the discipline he instilled on his constituents in Davao City is carried over in Malacañang and is now imposed on the Filipino people. Curfews, liquor and smoking banned in public are just a few of the many disciplinary programs his administration will enforce.

2. Simplicity and Humility – power and fame have not swayed Digong away from simplicity. Many who elevated in the laurels of success always metamorphose to a lifestyle of sophistication and complexity. But for Mayor President, simplicity and humility are solidly embedded in his character which is highly contagious that his cabinets and people surrounding him adapted his unpretentious way that is devoid of luxury and opulence. His advice to government officials to travel in economy class and modest vehicles was a timely example of prudence.

He repeatedly declined national post and awards. “As a matter of principle, I don’t accept awards,” he said upon insisting he was just doing his job.

3. Candor – What is Candor? It is the state or quality of being frank, open, and sincere in speech or expression. At the height of his campaign, this trait was clearly apparent that oftentimes he was misinterpreted. When the Mayor President declared the elimination of criminality and drugs within six months upon assumption of the highest position, many doubted his pronouncement.
After the election, while the results of his crackdown on drugs and expose of police protectors started to become obvious, the majority slowly understood his candidness. Hitherto, the said declaration is certainly free of ambiguities. Long before he officially steps in Malacanang, the war on drugs and criminality were at full speed that caused the CHR to panic, “selective panic” rather.

4. Tough and Fearless – Yes, no doubt, the 16th President of the Philippines is indeed fearless. Even before he assumes the presidency, many drug lords, pushers and users surrendered, left the country or hid in their caves. Among the many first in the Philippines is the huge number of drug related personalities who surrendered to authority in the infancy stage of Duterte’s presidency: a staggering 65,000 individuals. The “Punisher”, a moniker bestowed upon him for being a relentless crime buster in Davao, knows how to defend himself and his people, studies his opponent’s weaknesses and strong points, and slugs it out as expected of him.

5. Brilliant Tactician and Strategies – Duterte is like a chess grandmaster with an unpredictable game opening, tactical mid-game and killer end game. Using the bait, trick and trap strategy, many fall victim to this unforeseeable tactic. Among them was vice presidential aspirant Sonny Trillanes, whose malicious intent boomeranged on him amplified by Digong’s startling counterattack. Another occurrence was when he opened a window of opportunity for China to pursue bilateral talks with the Philippines, which softens China and allowed some precious opportunity for Filipino fishermen to fish in the rich waters of Scarborough. China was disappointed later on when Digong made an abrupt change of course due to China’s insistence to allow a dialogue base on non-rule of law. The president’s prime intention was to allow our poor fishermen to have access to the said fish-rich sea, but since China refuses to follow the arbitration ruling, Digong shelved the proposed bilateral talk.

6. Good Listener – "He listens. He's a very good lawyer, one of the best city fiscals in the city of Davao. When it comes to legal matters, he listens, he processes things," Atty. Salvador Medialdea said in his interview with ABS-CBN. But many now believe this trait extends beyond legal matters. In his first SONA, he urges to have a unilateral ceasefire with the NDF-CPP-NPA and grant a safety conduct pass to the communist leader, Joma Sison. This is to allow talks with them and listen to their grievances. Same goes with MNLF leader Nur Misuari.

7. High degree of Empathy- After Typhoon Yolanda ravaged Tacloban in 2013, the then Davao Mayor Duterte flew to Tacloban and personally led a humanitarian team from Davao. He pitied much the victims that he cannot hold his tears seeing the devastation. He was emotionally affected by what he saw that he said, “God must have been somewhere else or he forgot that there is a planet called Earth.”

The meager income of our men in uniforms and the sad plight of indigenous people (Lumad) are situations often neglected by past administrations, but President Duterte vowed to implement the incremental increase to the salaries of the PNP and AFP and protect the Lumads and their interest. His win brings hope to the Lumads.

8. Yearns for Unity – The sight of 4 past presidents having a solemn meeting with the current president is a picture of unity, hope, security and progress. The recent National Security Meeting of President Duterte with former presidents Ramos, Estrada, Arroyo and Aquino together with high ranking officials brought together leaders who set aside their differences; another first in the Philippines, only in the Philippines. Duterte sincerely yearns for lasting peace in troubled Mindanao that he is ready to concede BBL (Bangsamoro Basic Law) without constitutional provisions.

9. Longing for Peace – In his speech in front of the Army’s 6th ID troopers in Maguindanao, Duterte said, “For the people who want peace, we will go out. Ako, I’m ready to concede BBL minus the constitutional (infirmities).” This is how intense his longing for peace that he let go of it sans the constitutional provisions. He once preferred his dream of having Federalism over BBL as a solution to Mindanao’s conflicts and poverty. But after a long period of figuring the complexities of discernment and judgment, he opted not to hasten the country’s transformation to federalism, but decided promptly to concede in passing the BBL for the sake of peace in Mindanao.

10. Legendary – This borrowed statement from Rappler.com exemplifies the legendary persona of the president: “Colorful urban legends surround Duterte. There is one in which he supposedly pushes a drug trafficker from a flying helicopter. One in which he treats taxi drivers to dinner. Another in which he beats up a Philippine military soldier, breaking his two front teeth. One incident, confirmed by the mayor himself, involves him forcing a tourist to swallow a cigarette butt.” These stuffs of legend are what the drug lords, protectors and corrupt officials are afraid of. They know that the Man walks his talks.

With the numerous positive traits we can muster about him, I am sure there are several I missed. Tatay Digong is still in the early chapter of his presidency, more good things will soon come forth. He has big plans for our country, all for unity, peace and progress.

UPDATE:A Mysterious Massive Cylindrical Object was Spotted Off the Coast of Zambales

by: Intel Guru

Not long after a military intelligence satellite spotted a hidden Chinese Deep Underground Military Base with alleged Missile Silos in Zambales, another satellite found a mysterious looking object at sea off the coast of Zambales.

The black cylindrical object is believed to be around 130 meters long with a fin.

The mysterious object, which was already very close to mainland Philippines, is believed to be a Chinese nuclear submarine. It became visible when it resurfaced and went invisible when it dived back to the deeps.
