The Philippines Wins its Case Against China, Now its Time for CHEXIT!

The Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague awarded exclusive sovereign right over the South China Sea (West Philippine Sea) to the Philippines.

The decision was awarded 3 years after the case was filed by the Philippines in Netherlands.

“The Tribunal concluded that there was no legal basis for China to claim historic rights to resources within the sea areas falling within the ‘nine-dash line.’” as stated during PCA's press release.

 “Having found that none of the features claimed by China was capable of generating an exclusive economic zone, the Tribunal found that it could—without delimiting a boundary—declare that certain sea areas are within the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines, because those areas are not overlapped by any possible entitlement of China,” it added.

The tribunal further declared, "all of the high-tide features in the Spratly Islands (including, for example, Itu Aba, Thitu, West York Island, Spratly Island, North-East Cay, South-West Cay) are legally “rocks” that do not generate an exclusive economic zone or continental shelf."

“Our experts are studying the Award with the care and thoroughness that this significant arbitral outcome deserves. In the meantime, we call on all those concerned to exercise restraint and sobriety,” said Philippine Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr.

China's planned "Static Aircraft Carrier" is actually a full scale multi-purpose military base.

Since international law dictates that the region within the Philippines EEZ is ours, it is time for China to do a #CHexit from the West Philippines Sea, clamored many social media users, activists and patriotic Filipinos.

Many environmentalists are also worried of the damage China incurred in the resource rich region.  As one Filipino Facebook user posted, "China heavily invested in having a powerful naval fleet, but if you notice they only have a single aircraft carrier. They are not very much interested in mobile aircraft platforms, but on static landing strips such as reclaimed islets. Greedy China. They have no regards for environmental values, damaging thousands of hectares of atolls and reefs just to achieve their nefarious ambitions."

Manila filed the case in 2013 challenging China’s claim. China ignored and refused to participate in the hearings and vowed to ignore the verdict.

Many Filipinos are now urging their fellow countrymen to be more loud in protesting China's incursion in the West Philippine Sea.

And now, they are threatening to sink BRP Sierra Madre in response to the court ruling.

China “could tow away or sink” the BRP Siera Madre in response to the upcoming Philippine legal case against China at the Hague, State-run Global Times said in strongly-worded editorials on Friday.

China’s Deadly South Sea Fleet is now in the South China Sea

On Tuesday, July 12 this year, the verdict on the case filed by the Philippines at The Hague’s Permanent Court of Arbitration will be heard. Tensions are now on the rise, especially that China has been vocal with its strident refusal to abide by the ruling. Instead of decreasing the tension, China sent warships from the deadly South Sea Fleet.

These are the combat groups of the South Sea Fleet of China’s PLA Navy. Not included in the list are the support, service and reconnaissance group. The fleet is now in the South China Sea few days ahead before the Permanent Court of Arbitration will give its ruling. Experts predict a ruling in favor of the Philippines. China did not cooperate in the said case, nor submit any evidence of their territorial claim.

The Chinese PLA Navy launched a massive live fire drill in the South China Sea few days before judgment day, starting July 5 to July 11. This comes days just a few weeks the U.S. steamed two battle groups with aircraft carriers off the coast of the Philippine Sea. Also, the Indian and Japanese Navy just visited the Philippines, showing their support of this nation with the weakest armed forces among progressing countries in South East Asia in terms of military assets.

The South China Sea and the West Philippine Sea have been host to several powerful navies in recent months. Is this an augury for sea hostilities to come?

Palawan, Boracay and Cebu in Top 6 of World's Best Island - New York Based Magazine

Travel+Leisure magazine, owned by Time Inc. and based in New York City, recently named the annual Top Ten Best Islands in the World.

Three islands in the Philippines are in the top six spot of 2016's Best Island in the World. Palawan hailed the top spot. Next is another island in the Philippines, Boracay, which bagged the 2nd spot.

Cebu, described by one reader as "There is never a dull moment in Cebu," grabbed the 6th spot scoring 88.65 points. T+L further said, "Hiking, swimming with whale sharks, and diving from the top of a waterfall are just a few of the activities visitors can try in Cebu."

How to Know if Your Place is Near a Drug Den or a Meth (Shabu) Dealer is Living Nearby?

In these days of vital change, vigilance is needed in helping the society get rid of the destructive drugs that destroy many lives and future. Here are some important tips in spotting a possible drug den (kubol), dealer or pusher (tulak) in your area.

1. A Specific House or Place with Frequent Visitors 24/7. If there is a certain place in your area where there are frequent visitors at any time of the day, with some going there at repetitive times in a single day, most probably someone is selling drugs there. In some cases, the place is not selling drugs, but use as a drug den (kubol) where users have their pot sessions for a fee. It can also be used as both, where a pusher sells his “item” at the same time users “burned” or sniff the drugs inside.

2. Odd Activities at Odd Hours. When neighbors or strangers went in and out of that particular place at odd hours say 6AM in the morning or very late evening or midnight, there is a high possibility that illegal activities is happening in that area. A Habitual drug user does not recognize time and sniff meth again and again when its effect started to wear down.

3. Visitors park their car or motorcycle far away from that particular place. Drug buyers and users don’t want their ride to be noticed as their mind are set that people who will see them go inside that particular place perceived them to be users and are also into the illegal drug trades. Moreover, they can be easily identified when they are spotted embarking/disembarking on their vehicle.

4. Occupants have no clear source of income yet possessed wealth disproportionate to their means of living. Meth or “Shabu” trade is very lucrative that many unemployed people are tempted to go into the business despite its illegality. Some small time buyers traded their valuables in exchange for a small pack of meth thus often times these dealers and pushers possessed jewelries and high end gadgets.

5. Rampant Gambling in the Area. Most users are also into gambling to pass the time away while the effects of the drug are still high in their system. Most drug dealers are also avid gamblers where they often initiate gambling in their area.

6. Petty Crimes are high. Thief and robbery frequents the area (barangay) where a dealer or den is located. Many drug users and addicts resorted to crimes just to answer their needs for more drugs. Their dosage gradually rises, thus they need money to buy additional drugs when its effect wears off.

7. High Walls and Extensive Security. Big time drug dealers operate in very discreet operations. If you happen to see some CCTV cameras, mirrors, and sometimes chained dogs in odd corners of your barangay, most probably a drug dealer is operating nearby. Some hires watchers or spotters posted on entry points towards a drug dealer’s place of operation. These watchers are locals on a 24 hour routine that looks like mere bystanders posting for hours on a specific spot while holding a cellphone.

8. Littering of Used Paraphernalia’s. Try to scour in a nearby garbage pile of a suspected drug den and most probably you will find used tin foils, damaged lighters and small plastic package in the vicinity. You might even find it littered in nearby alleys and pathways.

If you happen to spot a few of these important points in your area, chances are high that a drug den, dealer or pusher is operating in your area. If so, secretly inform the nearest police station in your area.
