10 Good Traits of Duterte That Will Lead Us Back From Obscurity

by: Jec Ortiz
Cebu, Philippines

Never in the history of the Philippines that we had such a unique leader. Even though President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte just finished his first SONA, his presidency has already marked many firsts in the annals of Malacañang.

As we listened to his SONA, we can’t help but compare him to a father having a hearty talk with his children, full of "ad-libs with substance". Tatay Digong may be marred by doubts and criticism during his presidential campaign sorties due to his unorthodox style, rugged flair and tough verve atypical of a statesman. Yet, his innate valiant approach is what makes this result oriented, no non-sense straightforward commander-in-chief extraordinary.

Listed here are President Digong’s traits we observed that have produced positive outcomes:

1. Disciplinarian – the discipline he instilled on his constituents in Davao City is carried over in Malacañang and is now imposed on the Filipino people. Curfews, liquor and smoking banned in public are just a few of the many disciplinary programs his administration will enforce.

2. Simplicity and Humility – power and fame have not swayed Digong away from simplicity. Many who elevated in the laurels of success always metamorphose to a lifestyle of sophistication and complexity. But for Mayor President, simplicity and humility are solidly embedded in his character which is highly contagious that his cabinets and people surrounding him adapted his unpretentious way that is devoid of luxury and opulence. His advice to government officials to travel in economy class and modest vehicles was a timely example of prudence.

He repeatedly declined national post and awards. “As a matter of principle, I don’t accept awards,” he said upon insisting he was just doing his job.

3. Candor – What is Candor? It is the state or quality of being frank, open, and sincere in speech or expression. At the height of his campaign, this trait was clearly apparent that oftentimes he was misinterpreted. When the Mayor President declared the elimination of criminality and drugs within six months upon assumption of the highest position, many doubted his pronouncement.
After the election, while the results of his crackdown on drugs and expose of police protectors started to become obvious, the majority slowly understood his candidness. Hitherto, the said declaration is certainly free of ambiguities. Long before he officially steps in Malacanang, the war on drugs and criminality were at full speed that caused the CHR to panic, “selective panic” rather.

10 Good Traits of Duterte That Will Lead Us Back From Obscurity (con.t)

4. Tough and Fearless – Yes, no doubt, the 16th President of the Philippines is indeed fearless. Even before he assumes the presidency, many drug lords, pushers and users surrendered, left the country or hid in their caves. Among the many first in the Philippines is the huge number of drug related personalities who surrendered to authority in the infancy stage of Duterte’s presidency: a staggering 65,000 individuals. The “Punisher”, a moniker bestowed upon him for being a relentless crime buster in Davao, knows how to defend himself and his people, studies his opponent’s weaknesses and strong points, and slugs it out as expected of him.

6 Shocking Facts About Philippine Presidents. Click Here

5. Brilliant Tactician and Strategies – Duterte is like a chess grandmaster with an unpredictable game opening, tactical mid-game and killer end game. Using the bait, trick and trap strategy, many fall victim to this unforeseeable tactic. Among them was vice presidential aspirant Sonny Trillanes, whose malicious intent boomeranged on him amplified by Digong’s startling counterattack. Another occurrence was when he opened a window of opportunity for China to pursue bilateral talks with the Philippines, which softens China and allowed some precious opportunity for Filipino fishermen to fish in the rich waters of Scarborough. China was disappointed later on when Digong made an abrupt change of course due to China’s insistence to allow a dialogue base on non-rule of law. The president’s prime intention was to allow our poor fishermen to have access to the said fish-rich sea, but since China refuses to follow the arbitration ruling, Digong shelved the proposed bilateral talk.

6. Good Listener – "He listens. He's a very good lawyer, one of the best city fiscals in the city of Davao. When it comes to legal matters, he listens, he processes things," Atty. Salvador Medialdea said in his interview with ABS-CBN. But many now believe this trait extends beyond legal matters. In his first SONA, he urges to have a unilateral ceasefire with the NDF-CPP-NPA and grant a safety conduct pass to the communist leader, Joma Sison. This is to allow talks with them and listen to their grievances. Same goes with MNLF leader Nur Misuari.

7. High degree of Empathy- After Typhoon Yolanda ravaged Tacloban in 2013, the then Davao Mayor Duterte flew to Tacloban and personally led a humanitarian team from Davao. He pitied much the victims that he cannot hold his tears seeing the devastation. He was emotionally affected by what he saw that he said, “God must have been somewhere else or he forgot that there is a planet called Earth.”

The meager income of our men in uniforms and the sad plight of indigenous people (Lumad) are situations often neglected by past administrations, but President Duterte vowed to implement the incremental increase to the salaries of the PNP and AFP and protect the Lumads and their interest. His win brings hope to the Lumads.

8. Yearns for Unity – The sight of 4 past presidents having a solemn meeting with the current president is a picture of unity, hope, security and progress. The recent National Security Meeting of President Duterte with former presidents Ramos, Estrada, Arroyo and Aquino together with high ranking officials brought together leaders who set aside their differences; another first in the Philippines, only in the Philippines. Duterte sincerely yearns for lasting peace in troubled Mindanao that he is ready to concede BBL (Bangsamoro Basic Law) without constitutional provisions.

9. Longing for Peace – In his speech in front of the Army’s 6th ID troopers in Maguindanao, Duterte said, “For the people who want peace, we will go out. Ako, I’m ready to concede BBL minus the constitutional (infirmities).” This is how intense his longing for peace that he let go of it sans the constitutional provisions. He once preferred his dream of having Federalism over BBL as a solution to Mindanao’s conflicts and poverty. But after a long period of figuring the complexities of discernment and judgment, he opted not to hasten the country’s transformation to federalism, but decided promptly to concede in passing the BBL for the sake of peace in Mindanao.

10. Legendary – This borrowed statement from Rappler.com exemplifies the legendary persona of the president: “Colorful urban legends surround Duterte. There is one in which he supposedly pushes a drug trafficker from a flying helicopter. One in which he treats taxi drivers to dinner. Another in which he beats up a Philippine military soldier, breaking his two front teeth. One incident, confirmed by the mayor himself, involves him forcing a tourist to swallow a cigarette butt.” These stuffs of legend are what the drug lords, protectors and corrupt officials are afraid of. They know that the Man walks his talks.

With the numerous positive traits we can muster about him, I am sure there are several I missed. Tatay Digong is still in the early chapter of his presidency, more good things will soon come forth. He has big plans for our country, all for unity, peace and progress.

UPDATE:A Mysterious Massive Cylindrical Object was Spotted Off the Coast of Zambales

by: Intel Guru

Not long after a military intelligence satellite spotted a hidden Chinese Deep Underground Military Base with alleged Missile Silos in Zambales, another satellite found a mysterious looking object at sea off the coast of Zambales.

The black cylindrical object is believed to be around 130 meters long with a fin.

The mysterious object, which was already very close to mainland Philippines, is believed to be a Chinese nuclear submarine. It became visible when it resurfaced and went invisible when it dived back to the deeps.

Breaking Story: Hidden Chinese Military Base with Alleged Missile Silos Found in Zambales

by: iNTEL gURU

While many Filipinos know of China's construction of military bases in six different reef areas inside the Philippines’ exclusive 200 mile economic zone in the West Philippines Sea, they are unaware that China has clandestinely build a "Deep Underground Military Base" in Zambales, the province nearest to Scarborough Shoal in the Philippines.

Huge tunnel

The base is believed to contain underground military silos capable of holding long-range missiles. An image taken from a military intelligence satellite captured an image of what seem to look like underground missile pods and two small buildings believed to be the entrance of the tunnel and an external observation building. What stirs analyst to think that these are military installations is the composition of the structure: It is fully made of concrete even its sloping roofs.

This is the mining town of Sta.Cruz, Zambales surrounded by 3 giant mining concessions of China where the alleged base is located

Gov. Amor Deloso of Zambales already cautioned that there allegedly is Chinese military presence in his province. He added that this 500-hectare area was allegedly sold to the Chinese by  a former Governor of Zambales (name withheld for verification).

"They sold it to the Chinese – three mountains that compose a 500 hectare island area where they have stationed their missile; that’s why an American warship has been keeping an eye on it since the ruling favorable to the Philippines by the arbitration court),” Deloso said.

There were previous reports saying that "three Chinese conglomerates namely, Jiangxi Rare Earth & Metals Tungsten Group, Wei-Wei Group, and Nihao Mineral Resources Inc. also operate in Sta.Cruz and have put up five “minahang bayan (small-scale mines)” through Filipino dummies.

The governor noted that Beijing has already established itself not only in Panatag/Scarborough Shoal (formerly Bajo de Masinloc) but also in the mountains and the mainland. The disputed island is 85 kilometers from Sta. Cruz municipality but only 65 km more or less from Masinloc.

It looks like China is dead serious in invading the Philippine. They already exploited our minerals and they don't want to let go of it.

9 Reasons Why China Wanted the West Philippine Sea Badly

by Intel Guru

China continued to strain its relationship with other claimant countries in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) and marred its reputation and credibility by challenging the rule of law. China recently lost in the arbitrary case filed by the Philippines against the giant nation.

Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative/CSISMischief Reef, January 19, 2015.

Many powerful nations lead by the United States has sought to uphold freedom of navigation in the hotly contested sea. They also vouch to support other nations in Southeast Asia like the Philippines and Vietnam, which have been affected by China’s assertive territorial claims.

But China remains firm in their stance and has not shown signs of backing down from the region. Instead, it has increased its presence in the area by deploying the powerful South Sea Fleet in the region.

But why does China risk damaging their reputation and credibility and endangering their security? What do they see in this vast sea? Here are 9 reasons why China wanted the West Philippine Sea badly.

China's natural gas data Source: EIA; JTC
  1. It holds 11 billion barrels of oil but China estimated it at 130 billion barrels of oil . China is importing 7.7 million barrels per day
  2. It has 90 trillion cubic feet of natural gas deposit
  3. Produces at least 10 million tonnes of fish or 12 per cent of the global catch each year
  4. Strategic location as it links the Indian and Pacific Ocean
  5. Vital sea lane- 50% of the World's merchant ship pass through it. 25% of all traded goods and 25% of oil that travel by sea. There is a possibility that China will impose tax to ship passing in the region.
  6. $5.3 trillion of trade passes here annually
  7. Integral to China's nuclear submarine strategy
  8. Extension for their military bases
  9. The vast sea is symbol of world supremacy and superpower status

DISRESPECTFUL!!! Carlos Celdran mocks the Sto.Niño, Duterte and His Voters

by Intel Guru

Carlos Celdran, coined the term “Dutertards” (a combination of "Duterte" and the derogatory “retard”)on President Rodrigo Duterte's supporters. Prior to the 2016 election, he lashed out against the supporters and called them "delusional and lazy."

Carlos Celdran, the tour guide who mocked the Sto.Niño, blatantly hated Duterte and called Digong's supporters "Morons."

Recently, this buffoon's antics were getting utterly offensive and disrespectful. He called all those who voted for Duterte "Morons" and what's worst, he mocked the Sto.Niño when he posted "Pwet Señor" on Facebook.

Interesting! Mayor Tommy Osmeña challenge Carlos Celdran on a Face off. Click here for the full story.

This blatant extrovert, who is also a tour guide, was once found guilty by a Manila court for offending religious feelings when, dressed like Jose Rizal, stood in front of the main altar of Manila Cathedral during an ecumenical service, shouted and raised a placard with the word “Damaso” on it.

Many Filipinos, especially Sto.Niño devotees and Digong supporters, were miffed and offended by his mockery. One Sto.Niño devotee and a Duterte voter, wrote a compelling open letter to Mr.Celdran.

DEAR MR. CARLOS CELDRAN,

I am writing this letter not to bicker but rather to engage in a healthy discussion with a fellow Filipino.

I understand people often differ in opinion when it comes to politics but there is always a common denominator, and that is, WE ALL WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR COUNTRY.

On that note, I noticed you have been very vocal of your displeasure & hatred for our newly elected president even before he won the Presidency. I find this absurd & unfair. If you really WANT WHAT'S BEST FOR OUR COUNTRY, then you should respect the "majority of the electorate" who voted for President Duterte. After all, this is what democracy is all about.

I agree with your stance on extra judicial killings because I think this is merely a "band aid" fix to the problem. I also agree with you that "violence begets violence" & that innocent lives are usually caught in the crossfires of this war against drugs.

However, I don’t agree with you that the 38% who voted for President Duterte are "MORONS". We voted based on our conscience & knowledge of all the presidentiables. Just because we voted for a President who is unorthodox & tactless when it comes to speaking in front of the media, it doesn’t mean we are "MORONS". With all due respect, you don’t have monopoly of knowledge, Sir.

Furthermore, I don’t agree that our President is a "MAD MAN" or a "MONSTER". He may suck at using respectful & appropriate language in his interviews...He may have an extremely unpopular method of dealing with criminality but at the end of the day, he is still a fellow creation of God & a fellow Filipino.

Finally, I am offended by your recent comment on an edited picture of Senor Sto. Nino. When you said "PWET SEÑOR" you didn’t only insult the president but all the devoted CEBUANOS who look up to this holy figure.

Now that I've said my piece & now that you've mentioned "PWET", let me just ask you, how would you feel if somebody calls you (pls. excuse my French) Mr. Carlos CeldrASS?

Good day.

Rajah Rama Nuñez
-One of the 38% who voted for DU30

Max Namara, the one who edited the Sto.Niño
Celdran's comment on Facebook, along with the blasphemous edited image posted by a certain Max Namara, is extremely insulting and disrespectful, with no regards for decency.

The duo's profanity deserves no respect. Celdran's words and Namara's deeds infuriated more than the 38% who voted for Duterte. Devotees and most Catholics, the predominant religion of the Philippines, are disturbed by this.

One Cebuano's reprisal on Facebook: "Maybe we could petition these two assholes to be declared Persona Non Grata in Cebu?"

What do you think? SHARE para "mosikat" ning duha ka oplok!

Hahaha!!! Monkeys Stole Bananas When China's Backhoe Bogged Down While Destroying Tons of Philippine Bananas.

Juan Laagan

Going Bananas

Customs authorities at the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen destroyed 34.78 tons of "substandard bananas" imported from the Philippines due to excessive pesticide use, Shenshen's state TV said.

The bananas, worth $33,000, were mashed and buried, state broadcaster CCTV reported, showing footage of digger mashing the fruit and moving them into a pit for landfill.

Halfway in their mashing operation, the "made in China" backhoe bogged down in front of the state TV's camera. Government personnel were quick to order the TV crew and photographers to stop taking videos and photos.

While repair works were done with the broken heavy equipment, a photographer was quick to snipe a monkey stealing bananas over the piles.

Seconds later, about a dozen of the small primates took handfuls of bananas and ran back to the trees and had Chinese's securities caught off guard, except for the lone photographer who happened to be at the other side of the stockpile.

The monkeys were said to have observed from the woods while the heavy equipment mashed the sweet fruits, seemed praying that the backhoe will stop and the people to leave.

Opportunity struck them when their prayers were answered.

The bananas were in perfect condition and quality when it reaches China's port, but were left to rotten in the warehouse to look "unfit for human consumption" in front of China's state media. This was confirmed. Ask the monkeys.

The South China Sea may not only be the region contested by China. It was reported that the giant country's trouble over sovereignty extended into the interplanetary region of the Moon.

In a raw and irresponsible display of power, China shoots down a US satellite after the rogue nation lays claim to the Moon's eastern region.

R. Hobbus J.D., an international investigative journalist reported that the Chinese president Xi Jinping said his country’s space agency is working with the military to establish a joint operating base with North Korea in the central region of the Moon’s southern hemisphere.

The forward operating base will likely be located some twenty-six kilometers south of a massive crater known as Tycho. “China reserves the right to defend itself against enemies both interplanetary and domestic,” President Xi said.

The president added, “China reserves the right to defend itself against enemies both interplanetary and domestic.”

The report of the satellite's shot down is supposed to be highly confidential but a leak at Nasa's cyber system exposed China's wicked acts. Please SHARE this so the world will know.

NO RED ALERT STATUS for PH; China on Red 5 Days Ago

By: Intel Guru

July 14, 2016

In light of the circulating issues regarding the Armed Forces of the Philippines' declaration of "Red Alert' following an international court ruling on Philippines’ maritime case against China, the Department of National Defense (DND) through Usec Ricardo A. David, Jr. said that there is no such issued alert status.

The circulated text messages mentioned a certain Gen. David as the source of the hoax. Quoted below is the exact text message circulating on Facebook:

"An Urgent Prayer Request 2 d body of Christ: Forwarded FROM GERERAL DAVID. "sabihin sa mga pastors mgpray pra sa bansa. Red Alert ngayon sa AFP gawa ng galit ang China. Maingay ngayon dto sa Clark dahil landing ng mga gamit pandigma frm France, USA, JAPAN at Australia pra tumolong kung sakali gumera ang china at arab country. Pls. pray po tayo... Kindly inform all leaders & intercessors.. Txt from Ptr. Jun pangilinan.. Let us unite in prayers pls. pass."

Gen.Ricardo David Jr.

There is no need to panic on this disinformation. Usec.David said, "The text is a hoax and I would like to assure everyone that there is no cause for alarm.” .

While it is true that China declared a "Red Alert" status 5 days ago, this is not in relation to the South China Sea Issue, rather was about typhoon Nepartak. The China's State Oceanic Administration (SOA) is warning people that heavy havoc can be expected due to the typhoon.

ALARMING! Tanks, Troop carriers, Jets and Mobile ICBMs Are NOW Mobilized in China!!!

by: Intel Guru

A former Philippine DILG Secretary and tourism secretary urged the intelligence community to process this info with allied countries about a massive movement of tanks, troop carriers, jets and mobile ICBMs in China. It seems that the PLA forces is preparing for an invasion and are moving towards the southernmost coastal province of Hainan. Due to the presence of DF-21, a carrier killer missile, their intention is believed to be projected towards the contested sea, where two US-Nimitz class carriers are on patrol near the Philippine sea.Or will they make good on their threat in sinking the BRP Sierra Madre?

Update:

This is the answer to China's DF-21 Carrier Killer Missile.

The MQ-25A Stingray.

Just when China thought they now now have the weapon to disable allied aircraft carriers out of striking position by having the deadly DF-21 carrier killer missile in their arsenal, they were wrong. The U.S. Navy countered their priced weaponry with a much sophisticated firepower, the MQ-25A Stingray. For more information about this potent counter-weaponry of the future, CLICK here.

Some of these were taken today and some were taken yesterday, said Harry Yu, who received the alarming info from his friend in mainland China. More visually disturbing in China's convoy of arsenal was the presence of mobile DF-21 Carrier Killer Missiles. The Dong-Feng 21 is a two-stage, solid-fuel rocket, single-warhead medium range ballistic missile (MRBM) capable of destroying large aircraft carriers 1770 kilometers away. China is also preparing the much larger DF-41 ICBMs that could wipe out an entire city.

This is absolutely a cause for alarm, especially on directly concerned countries like the Philippines, Japan and the U.S. Many have aired their concerns in social media. One Mark Pio Guzman from the Philippines commented, "We and our allies must coordinate and prepare! China is a traitor! They can move anytime!,". Erwin Dizon also commented on Facebook, "Imperialism cannot work in the new world order. China should learn the lessons of history. Iraq was the last one to get burned by a world coalition for invading Kuwait."

While in China...
The rhetoric and oblivious propaganda circulates.

China insist they had the right to enforce an air defense zone over the South China Sea base on a report covered by Reuters. It added that "Beijing has repeatedly blamed the United Stated for stirring up trouble in the South China Sea, where its territorial claims overlap in part with Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan."

China again blocks Filipino fishermen from fishing in the recently awarded contested area to the Philipinnes near Scarborough Shoal. An ABS-CBN team together with the said fishermen went to fish in Scarborough's fishing grounds when they were blocked.

"Nakisabay kami dito sa isang grupo ng mangingisdang Pinoy na susubok nga, sumubok sila na magpalaot isang araw pagkatapos ng arbitral tribunal at susubukan nga nila kung papapasukin na sila sa Scarborough Shoal," Chiara Zambrano said.

With this development, our armed forces and allies should not be complacent. This is a matter of national security, though we know these movements are monitored by high-tech satellites and radars. What civilians must do is to raise awareness and share this vital piece of information so our fellow countrymen will pray for the inevitable.

Coordinated EU Patrols

According to Bloomberg, France will urge European Union nations to coordinate navy patrols to ensure a “regular and visible” presence in the disputed South China Sea, in the latest sign of international push back to China’s expanded military clout in the area.

In the Philippines

Sources near the Clark Airbase north of Manila observed increased activities and deployment of air assets from foreign countries notably from the U.S. The scene implies preparation for our countries defense in case an attack from China could happen. Although an attack on the Philippine soil is unlikely to happen, what most experts fear is if China make good of their threat to tow away or sink the lone BRP Sierra Madre of the Philippine navy, which aground in Ayungin Shoal off the coast of Luzon.
